The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and Malaysia Medical Relief Society (Mercy) invites young Nepalis to apply for scholarships to Sunway University, Malaysia (January & March 2016).This scholarship is for financially needy students with excellent results in HSEC 2015 directly affected by the recent earthquake.
The 4-year Scholarship is worth up to MYR 185,000 covering tuition, living, visa, insurance and air passage for each 5 students to pursue specific courses at Sunway Education Group. As per Mr. Ang Chung Peng, Manager, Sunway Education Group, Malaysia, the aim of this scholarship is to help Nepalese students who have outstanding marks in their HSEB and are affected by recent earthquakes to obtain a qualification and contribute to the rehabilitation, reconstruction and development of the nation.
The Sunway Education Group which commenced with the establishment of Sunway College in 1986 is an entity synonymous with quality education and scholarship. The Sunway Education Group is owned and governed by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and consists of Sunway University, Sunway College, Monash University Malaysia, Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Sunway International School as well as seven other institutions. The Sunway Education Group is the only private education group in Malaysia under a special purpose non-profit foundation. The estimated market capitalization of the

In order to apply for Sunway Mercy Nepal Relief Scholarship 2016, students must have excellent academic results, mature and have leadership qualities, financially needy and directly affected by the recent earthquake, active in extra-curricular activitities and most important, he / she must be committed to complete the whole programme. Applicants must provide evidence of academic achievement and financial need to justify eligibility (e.g. certificates, testimonials and references). Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews and final selection by a panel from Sunway and Mercy Malaysia. Successful scholars are expected to return to Nepal upon completion of studies.
